1 year old anger management?!?!?!

So. Here is the deal. Yesterday when I picked the kids up at daycare, I was informed that Kasen was bit by another kid is his room there at the daycare. I thought "well, that kind of stuff happens and I know that kids go through biting phases, I am sure he is fine" When I went to get him out of his bed (he was napping) I pulled the blanket off of him to discover a complete set of teeth marks on his chubby little right forearm. Poor Baby. He looks like he got caught in a little bear trap. I asked what happened and I was told that he took a toy away from another little girl (age 1 1/2) so she got mad and bit him! I didn't think that babies that age got mad like that! But, the skin wasn't broken and he is going to have a nasty bruise. They put ice on it and gave him lots of extra TLC which I definitely appreciated. So today I picked him up and jokingly said to the girl who watches him "So did he get bit again today?" She gave me the look and I knew what my answer was. Sure enough, it was the same little girl but this time she actually broke the skin. So now he has a bruised area on his left forearm complete with a puncture wound. I was so upset. I spoke with the assistant director who assured me that there would be a stop to this. She asked me what I wanted to happen (If it were my choice, that girl would no longer attend that daycare) and I just told her that I didn't want him in the same room with her again. So from now on they should be separated. Apparently the assistant directors son used to be that little girl's chew toy before Kasen came around, so she was so nice and very understanding and kept apologizing for what happened. I told her that she had nothing to be sorry for, that it wasn't the daycare's fault that she bit him. I am just happy that they are willing to let him go to another room for awhile until that girl moves up to the next room. What is so funny (well not really funny) is that she bit him out of anger- he took a toy away from her!! The one girl who watches Kasen said that he "provoked" her and that is why she bit him. Bless his little heart, I don't think he knew any better than to take a toy away from her. Oh my, isn't it a little early for all this to begin? Maybe they should offer anger management for babies......or maybe it is a woman thing............LOL.

Crazy Busy!

Wow. Time flies when you are busy. The last couple of weeks have been pretty hairy. We are getting ready for Kasen's first birthday party on Saturday. I am excited and stressed out too. I still have alot to get ready. I'm sure everything will fall into place......hopefully:)

Kasen is trying SO hard to walk. He will push/pull up on furniture and toys and then let go. He is allright until he looks down and realizes that he isn't holding on to anything. Then he wusses out and plops down on his little tooshie. We almost have him weaned off of formula now YAYYYY!!! That is about $120 a month in savings! He loves all kinds of table food. We have been so fortunate that he especially loves veggies. Green beans and broccoli are his faves. I have never seen a baby put away as much food as he can.....you would think that his little tummy is going to pop!

Madison is doing great in Pre-k. She lives her teachers and all of her friends- especially her best friend Mackenzie! They seem attached at the hip at times! She now has her phone number memorized and writes her first and last name very well. We are so proud of her! She has sooooo many toys and stuffed animals (I think that any parent would agree with me that stuffed animals seem to breed overnight in the closets- they keep multiplying! I don't remember buying her hardly any stuffed animals- I have no idea where they come from!!) So anyways, her toys and stuffed animals were taking over her room and she wasn't doing all that well at picking things up when she was done playing. I sat down and had a talk with her and told her that there are lots of boys and girls out there that don't have any animals or toys to play with and that she should respect what she has a little better. She said that maybe we could give some to those boys and girls. So last week she said "Mommy, I am ready to sort through my toys and animals to give to the boys and girls that don't have any!" So we spent several hours cleaning out her toybox, closet, and bookshelves to give some away to unfortunate kids. Believe it or not, but we had 1 1/2 trash bags of stuffed animals and 1 1/2 trash bags of toys! Needless to say, her room is much cleaner and more organized and we re-arranged her furniture a little bit to make a bigger area to play. We also took her TV and DVD player out of there. I kept telling her how proud I was of her for being so nice to give her things to boys and girls that are not as fortunate as her. I want to check around with some charities (maybe the Hope House in Greenfield) to see if they would like the toys and I plan on taking her with me when we deliver them. She came up and gave me a big hug and kiss and said "Mommy, I'm so proud that you are so proud of me!" I couldn't help but laugh. She is such a sweetheart!

I thought I would post these pics of them. Kasen in his new jammies and Madison when she fell asleep on the couch the other night and slowly slid down off of the couch in her sleep!

Pat-A-Cake!

Tonight my mom and dad were over and my mom was playing pat-a-cake with Kasen. She kept singing to song over and over to him. When she sang it to him again, he said "pat-a-cake" along with her. When she first told me that I thought NO WAY! Then she sang it again and he did it again. It sounded so funny.....imagine pat-a-cake mixed with alot of baby babbling.....so cute.

Madison's 1st Day Of Pre-K

Madison started Pre-K a couple of weeks ago. She attends her pre-k classes at Celebrations Child Care Ministry (the same place she goes to for daycare) So far she LOVES it. She was very excited today because they had a field trip to the library for story time! Too cute. Madison loves being at school and playing with all of her friends and classmates. She had grown up so much it the past year alone- not just physically but mentally as well. She is talking so grown up and the stuff she says just cracks us up......sometimes she sounds more like a teenager than a preschooler. She will always be our sweet baby girl. Hard to think that in a year she will be starting kindergarten...........now I feel old.

Baby Boy is Growing Up So Fast!

I find it so amazing when I look back at old pictures of my kids and see the changes in them everyday. It is hard to believe that he is almost 1!! He is such a happy little camper (and such a momma's boy- I'm lovin it!)

Silly Madison

Madison is soooooo funny sometimes, as you can see from the pictures. Sometimes she emerges from her bedroom in the craziest outfit combinations. She loves to play dress up. As you can see, she also likes to cram herself into boxes and baskets. Not a day passes that she doesn't give me a good laugh!

Madison's attempt at no training wheels

A couple of weeks ago, Madison asked us to remove her training wheels since she is such a "big girl." She tried several times, but still had trouble with trying to over-correct. After several tries (with us bent over running behind her, holding on to the seat) she said "Mommy, I think it is time to put the training wheels back on, I don't like this very much!" However, I did manage to get some cute pics of her with her new Barbie helmet, knee pads and elbow pads that Daddy picked out for her!
